According to the PM article, we need a 5/16 t slot cutter, and a 1.375 inch 60 degree cutter. I don't know if there's a difference with the Southbend MLA cross slide. I still have to figure out the professional way to sort out the 21/32" dimension with a 5/16 t slot cutter. Up til now, I thought I had to use a 3/8" t slot cutter. This would re-appear within a week or so after adjusting the brass nut for 0.001 backlash and would increase slowly thereafter. Dec 20, 2011 · Does this lathe, have T slots in the cross slide? If I get a lathe first I need to be able to mill small parts on it a while before I will be able to get a seperate mill. From what I have seen & read the T slot would make it easier, I'd like to be able to mount a rotary table or a small milling head on the cross slide.
